Really useful for getting piles of shoes off the floor that were stopping us from getting in the front door! I also store various other items in it. One pocket big enough to fit a pair of flat womens sandals in, but most adult shoes need separate pockets. Only downside is the tops of our doors don't have enough clearance for the hooks so I can't close the door I have hung it on until we decide on an alternative hanging solution.
