Step Into Some Famous Shoes

A whole host of UK and American celebrities have donated a pair of their shoes to be auctioned on an auction website - and it's all in aid of a good cause. The charity in question is the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) which has won a Nobel prize for its work in drawing attention to the dangers of landmines. Their campaign 'Give Landmines the Boot' aims to raise those all important funds to aid work in safely clearing landmines. The auction will end on the first of August and all the money will go to the Mines Advisory Groups' lifesaving work in a series of countries, including Vietnam, Angola, Colombia, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Cyprus to name just some of the areas affected by landmines.

Over 60 celebrities have donated a pair of their shoes for the cause. And as you would expect there are some great designer shoes to be found in the auctions! You get the chance to bid on anything from a pair of signed trainers donated by the band Elbow to a pair of Dame Shirley Bassey's strappy heels! Music fans will also have the chance to bid on a pair of Johnny Marr's trainers that he has customised and decorated himself.

If you are a fan of soap operas, stars of long running soap Coronation Street have donated shoes and if it's football that's your thing, you could bid on winning a pair of worn football boots donated by former England strikers Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer. And its not just British celebrities getting involved. Shoes have been donated by top American singers Katy Perry, Pink and Nelly Furtado.

It's all great news for the charity and should help to declutter the wardrobes of the celebrities who donated their shoes!
