Summer is a Washout – It's Official!

It's time to pack away your summer shorts, sandals and sun cream and admit defeat! Apparently the Great British summer is well and truly over according to the weathermen at the Met Office.

After a reasonably good June and July - well in some parts of the UK at least - the Met Office is predicting that the rest of August will feature rain, rain and more rain. And what's more that rain is set to continue so we can't even hold out for an Indian summer. September is predicted to be equally wet and cold and there has even been mention of snow in some parts of the north.

This is bad news for anyone who has a late August camping holiday booked and last minute trips to the seaside before the kids go back to school are looking less than appealing. So with great sadness it's time to say goodbye to all those things that symbolise summer and brace ourselves for a wetter and colder climate.

Many people choose to store their summer clothes away, neatly packed in suitcases and protected with anti-moth repellent. The same can be achieved for all your summer shoes and there are some great storage solutions available for packing away those strappy summer sandals until next year.

If you prefer the 'out of sight out of mind' approach and a clutter free home then bedroom storage may be the answer. Those beautiful but less than rain-friendly strappy sandals can be packed away using any one of the under bed shoe storage options available, including shoes under bags and under bed shoe racks. Clear plastic shoe boxes or over door sandal racks are also a good way to keep your summer shoes packed away and well-protected for another season.

Although this summer may have been something of a washout there's always next year to look forward to!
