The average British woman owns 17 pairs and spends nearly two-thirds of her life in heels, a survey has revealed today.

Almost half the women surveyed admitted to buying shoes on an impulse with over 70% admitting to buying shoes they very rarely wear, if ever!

We Brits are "Cut-price Carries" with the typical spend on shoes a mere £36 - a far cry from the pricey designer pairs by Blahnik and Choo favoured by Carrie of Sex and the City fame.

For most of us, not much in life beats the rush we get from slipping into some new killer heels.

But one of the biggest problems shoe lovers face is finding the place to store their much loved shoes once they have they have them in their clutches and safe at home.

As more of us move into smaller dwellings with less storage space the room we have for shoe storage is limited, making proper care of our valuable investments increasingly difficult.

God forbid we should stop indulging in our passion for shoes. After all wasn't it our mothers who said that 'Shoes maketh the woman' - or was that the outfit. In any event we all know just how good a new pair of shoes makes us feel.
