They are the ultimate in shoe comfort but once again sheepskin boots have topped the list of items of clothing that women love but men hate. According to an article in the Daily Mail this week, together with harem pants, gladiator sandals and leggings, those comfortable boots are viewed as 'un-sexy' and smelly!
It's every woman's dilemma - shoe style over shoe comfort. Celebrity and high street trends have been leaning towards ever increasing heights in heels over the last few years and although these shoes can give an outfit the edge it can't be denied that after an hour or so maximum in towering heels you end up wishing you had gone for the shoe comfort factor.
Unfortunately for the high heel fan the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) reports that for the healthiest height in shoes, the heels should be wide and no higher than a half to three-quarters of an inch. For those who can't stand to compromise on shoe style and are prepared to forgo some shoe comfort, the great news for the coming Autumn/Winter 2010 fashion season is that we are seeing more and more shoes and boots with the 'triangular' shaped heels. This is a far more comfortable heel to wear ; unlike spike and stiletto heels the weight of your body is more evenly distributed.
There are also some superb flat boots coming up for Autumn and the Eskimo or Moccasin style boot is going to be a popular look. Unfortunately the Eskimo boots might fall into the category of trends that women love but men hate.
No doubt the ubiquitous sheepskin boots will continue to remain popular among women, especially if they offer a respite from those skyscraper heels. Perhaps one day men will learn to love those boots as much as women!
