A youth mentoring charity from the USA has announced it's annual 'Stiletto Race' to raise funds for the cause. The charity based in Portsmouth New Hampshire organises the event every year with the rules stating that participants must be over the age of 18, the stiletto heels must be at least 2 inches or higher and that protective gear can be worn! No doubt the race, which is run up a hill, will be a lot of fun for participants and spectators alike and will raise some money for a worthy cause.
Whilst running in stiletto heels may not be everyone's idea of fun or indeed a particularly safe thing to do, there is little doubt that women's love affair with the stiletto heel is far from over. These shoes remain enduringly popular for the way they make a woman feel and look. It is said that Marie Antoinette went to the guillotine in a pair of 2 inch high heels and that Marilyn Monroe had one of the heels in each pair of her stilettos filed down a quarter of an inch to achieve her trademark wiggle walk.
With the season of summer weddings, sporting events and garden parties in full flow, many women are jumping at the chance to wear the strappy stiletto heels and sandals in their shoe collection. These shoes are of course the perfect compliment to any summer outfit. However many of these occasions mean walking on grass or gravel which can play havoc with stiletto heels. This is when stiletto heel protectors come in handy; these little protectors slip on over your heels and protect them from grass stains or scrapes that leave your heels discoloured. There's now no need to have your best shoes ruined you can simply slip on a pair of shoe heel protectors, and get on with enjoying that summer party!
